 PUPPY LOVE REVERSED
An Ambassador
with Irresistible Agenda

She's a dainty tail-wag charmer
With her fluffy coat of glacial white
As soft as down
And irresistible for
Strangers walking hulking 80-pound retrievers,
Ladies who are wistfully reminded of the
Times of heart-warm babies, toys and miniatures.

They stop to pet, and chat, and marvel
Over my cute panting superannuated "puppy" with charisma,
Dashing forward with an upturned eager face
And lick or two,
A skilful diplomat enhancing and reviving laggard social life
In parks where puppy love obliterates all worries
Over hazards underfoot (those canine calling cards)
You'd better circumvent, however much you're smitten by
The wondrous world of love-kissed dogs.
