FIRE ON THE WATER

By PAUL HERTELENDY
of TheColumnists.com

Flooded shores surround a rainy-season creek
Where isolated fishermen on dugout skiffs adroitly fire up their lunchtime
grill
Aboard some tree stumps floating past.
Sturdy structures of survival stem from high-strength building blocks
Like adaptation and imagination.
