AIRPORT
BOUND

By PAUL HERTELENDY

The
phone is jangling me insistently awake.
A vanful of impatient airport travelers
Await out front before the dawn.
In a flash I dress, rush out, and then,
Despite my sorry!
Face a pall of dirty looks and sullen silence
In what seemed
The longest trip on earth.
