PREDATORS
By PAUL HERTELENDY
of TheColumnists.com
A quiet ranch awakens
when the dogs begin to bark and howl.
The predators are on the prowl.
A sharp-clawed hawk flies up in silence,
Making all forget the sky-high condor.
Far below, a gray fox brazenly is wandering,
As if the landlord,
Daring furied dogs to break restraints
And give him chase.
