Since 1927, 74 movies have collected a "Best Picture" Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Below are 10 memorable scenes from some of those 74 films. Try to name the film that goes with each scene.
1. A hunted gunman breaks down and sobs after shooting a man to death, confessing his record of "hits" is all phony and he's never killed anyone before. 2. An ambulance driver stops in the deserted main street of town and wonders where everybody went. Moments later, the driver realizes the town is being attacked by a bomber flying overhead. 3. A young man visiting from America is introduced to an elderly Sicilian oliver farmer....then repays the farmer's hospitality by sticking a knife in the old man's belly. 4. A young woman follows her suicidal boy friend to a pawn shop and finds out he has just hocked her fur coat to buy a handgun. 5. Newlyweds cheerfully talk about their future plans during a romantic moment on deck during their honeymoon cruise. As they move away from the ship's railing, we see the name of their ship on a life preserver: Titanic. 6. An elated young executive comes home with big news about his job promotion, but his wife shatters his mood by telling him, "I'm leaving you!" 7. A thief hiding in a famous woman's hotel room suddenly realizes she's about to commit suicide and there's nobody else around to talk her out of it. 8. A young man and his girl friend create a panic in a four-star restaurant by pretending there's a rat loose in the dining room. 9. A few days before her wedding, the bride's mom tells her she disapproves of the bridegroom and won't be attending the wedding. 10. An adulterous woman takes her lover to a drive in restaurant. As they grope each other while waiting for their food, the woman suddenly notices her husband is the guy who brings their order to the takeout window.
